How do i block someone from the same router from viewing my ip address?

-i have a very paranoid little sister shes bi polarAs far as "viewing" your actual IP address, you don't. If your both on the same segment your IP address is there to be discovered.



But you probably mean something a little deeper like preventing her from seeing your network traffic or accessing your PC.



As far as accessing the PC, as long as you don't have any shared folders or remote access programs installed you're probably fine. You can enable/use windows firewall to block her MAC address if you wanted.



As far as seeing your network traffic, your router ports are probably switched so she should only be able see your broadcast traffic if you have a wired connection. If you are wireless then your traffic is there to be seen. You could use a VPN service or a HTTPS/SSL proxy so that traffic was encrypted. She'd still be able to see DNS requests though.
