-i connected an old hp with xp to a new dell with vista with a crossover ethernet cable. i want to use the hp as an external drive. the dell light is on showing a connection, but it doesn't show up as a drive in computer on the dell.
what is wrong with it?Did you configure the IP addresses?
Did you enable file and print sharing?
Did you set the work group names to be the same?
